Crown of Creation

Trippin' down memory lane. I have to pay tribute to this album --I used to listen to it all the time when I was in high school. This song "In Time," transported me far beyond my bedroom in the basement. Hearing it again, I feel I can travel those same places now. Jefferson Airplane sure made some beautiful music.

  1. ... and Jefferson Starship sucked. Why is that? The Doobie Brothers is another band I'll never forgive for going soft in the 70's.

  3. Jefferson Starship SOOOO sucked. It was a travesty. I don't know how they lived with themselves. The stuff they were doing with Jefferson Airplane was exquisite. The stuff they did with Starship was banal and annoying. (I'm thinking of "Sara" and "We built this city.") Same goes for the Doobies. Unrecognizable. I grew to loathe Michael McDonald.

  4. This is sad...I didn't realize that The Doobie Brothers actually rocked at one time (I missed it). Yes, Michael McDonald's voice is a joke--his was another voice I would impersonate in grade school--and not in a respectful way. For real on Jefferson Starship--gag!
However, I like this song. Thanks for introducing another cool Jefferson Airplane song. I'm on a new/old music kick---I'm lovin' it!

  5. I'm going to have to lay some early Doobies on you. You'll appreciate the difference. Try to wipe out thoughts of "What a fool believes" and "Minute by minute." Wretched tripe.

  7. You're spot on about Blood, Sweat and Tears, man. Talk about a band. And I blame the drugs for the crap they put out with Jefferson Starship.
