A Half-Ton Metal Object is Falling From the Sky
It's Coming! Maybe headed your way. Who the huck knows??!
A spacecraft launched by the Soviets that failed to reach Venus has been orbiting the earth for the past 53 years, and it is now plummeting straight for earth.
The experts tell us not to worry:
"We should not be be too worried."
The chance of the spacecraft actually hitting someone or something "Can't be completely excluded."
A "one in several thousand chance of hitting someone."
Since most of the planet is water "chances are good it will indeed end up in some ocean." (Uh...are there not people and sea-going vessels? And planes crossing the ocean??")
The object has a parachute to slow its descent, but they think it's no longer working. It has a heat shield that they think might still be working, which means it won't burn up in the atmosphere. Lucky us!
They think it will hit around May 10th, anywhere between London and South America. So we all get to play this game of Russian roulette!
The Soviet gift that keeps on giving.
The current estimate is that over 200 objects will de-orbit this year...so, HEADS UP!!!
ReplyDeleteWHAT???! This is getting out of control. They all better not have heat shields!
