Fairy Go Round

Annabelle brought loads of phlox to the house last weekend and we planted them around the trunks of several trees. Were we inviting fairies to the yard? I was kind of hoping so. That by planting flowers in a circle we might create a fairy ring ---a portal by which fairies can appear and disappear. But of course the notion is silly. What is referred to as "fairy rings" are circles of mushrooms, not flowers. And they spring up naturally.  In places where elves have been dancing.

If the elves should, by chance, decide to use your phlox to delineate a mosh pit, thereby dancing around the tree, might that not generate the desired fairy ring?

  2. Yes, I believe it would. Hmmm...then I'd have a ring of mushrooms where I'm trying to grow flowers. But if it meant I had my very own elven mosh pit, it'd be well worth it.
